Como una actividad inclusiva y participativa para dinamizar la economía de las familias, hemos diseñado un programa exclusivo y único de turismo rural comunitario de tres comunidades.
Una actividad completamente distinta para sumergirse en una práctica cultural y ancestral con nuestros hermanos de 3 comunidades rurales, ser partícipes en una caminata con llamas y alpacas utilizando como medio de transporte para cargar productos o bienes.
En un espacio geográfico con paisaje impresionantes de flora y fauna y la vista de la laguna Piuray.
Por otra parte; una asociación de mujeres artesanas de Chinchero comparte sus habilidades y técnicas a través de una explicación y demostración del proceso de elaboración del arte textil andino.
Y para degustar de una gastronomía típica local, tenemos representantes de otra comunidad de Misminay especializados en la preparación de la comida netamente con productos orgánicos producidos por ellos mismos.
Aprovechando esta experiencia cultural, también tenemos la visita del complejo arqueológico de Moray y Salineras de Maras.

Our Itinerary
Cusco → caminata con llamas → Textileria → Almuerzo Misminay → Moray → SalinerasRural Community Tourism Peru | A Cultural Immersion in Chinchero and Misminay with Qatawi Tours
- We begin this cultural activity by leaving Cusco very early in the morning with our private transportation to head to the Piuray Lagoon viewpoint, a one-and-a-half-hour drive.
- At this point, we meet and greet the families who await us in their traditional costumes, with llamas and alpacas.
- As a sign of cultural exchange, we will dress in their traditional costumes to hike with the llamas and alpacas.
- This entertaining activity will last for about an hour, with photographs and a breathtaking view of Piuray Lagoon, accompanied by local families.
- At the end of this hike, we bid farewell and continue for about 20 minutes with our transportation to the next community to visit the interpretation center and enjoy a textile demonstration with a group of women experts in the production of Andean textiles.
- Next, we will head to the Misminay community, a 30-minute drive away.
- In this last community, another family will welcome us in their traditional homes.
- Here we will enjoy a typical lunch with organic products prepared by local families dedicated to this inclusive community-based rural tourism activity.
- After sharing this gastronomic experience, we will continue to the Moray archaeological complex, which was primarily used for agricultural purposes.
- Our last visit will be the Maras salt mines, near the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This natural and cultural attraction is extremely interesting for learning about the Inca’s organic salt extraction.
- Finally, depending on our schedule, we will return to Cusco or continue to Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu.
