Discover the Treasures of the Sun: An Inti Raymi Tour of Cusco

The festival of INTI RAYMI 2026 in the city of Cusco, a mystical celebration in honor of the Sun God, performed by the ancient inhabitants of Cusco THE INCAS and that until today on June 24 of each year is staged on the esplanade of Saqsayhuaman.

Day June 24 Inti Raymi Festival of the Sun 2026

On June 24, the festival in honor of the Sun God, is held in the three historical and natural scenarios that are usually used for the staging as the temple of Qoricancha, Plaza de Armas, Sacsayhuaman.

Qoricancha (Public Stage)

• 7:40 a.m. The Travel Agency will pick you up at your hotel with your transportation and your guide to go to the first station of the staging which will be in Qoricancha (Golden Fence).
• 08:00 a.m. we will meet at the Qoricancha where we will settle in to appreciate the departure of the Inca and his retinue.
• 09.00 a.m. or 09:30 a.m. Looking up we will be able to see the Inca making an invocation to the sun god.

Plaza de Armas (Public Stage)

• 10:00 a.m. We will walk up to the Plaza de Armas where we will settle in one of the corners to appreciate the passage of the Inca retinue. Then we will take our transportation in the rejoicing square to go to Sacsayhuaman (20min approx.).

Saqsayhuaman-Inti Raymi (Private stage)

• 12:00 p.m. Sacsayhuaman (voice derived from the Quechua terms “saqsay” and “waman” which translated to Spanish means “saciate hawk”: This impressive archaeological center is located at 3,555 m.a.s.l., one kilometer from the Inca quarter “Qolqanpata”.
• 13:00 hrs we will have our box lunch. And the ceremony will begin. We will be seated in the orange VIP grandstand of the stage to have the best view of the show. This is the only stage where we will be comfortable appreciating this magnificent staging of Inti Raymi.
• 15:30 hrs approx. end of the staging, we will meet and go to the mobility and leave them in their respective hotels (this day there will be a lot of traffic congestion some people whose hotels are near the square choose to walk down to the Plaza de Armas approx. 15 min down).
• To attend the INTI RAYMI the EMUFEC, offers the necessary services: Grandstands in Sacsayhuaman equipped with modern and comfortable VIP seats, mobile toilets, tourist information booth, first aid posts and security (police and private), which allow you to enjoy the festival.
• We have 03 VIP grandstands that the passenger will have to choose from: Orange grandstand, Red grandstand, Green grandstand.

Availability of tickets to the Inti Raymi in Sacsayhuamán

The main Inti Raymi show takes place in Sacsayhuaman. During the show, the Inca, played by a renowned Cusquenian actor, appears with his wife (the coya), his entourage, the high priest and representatives of the four regions of the Inca empire: the Chinchaysuyo, the Contisuyo, the Antisuyo and the Collasuyo. The representation includes the performance of a soprano singer, live music, and the recreation of the offering of a flame in the fire, among other elements. With a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes (starting at 2:00 p.m.), this show is one of the most famous worldwide.

Remember that only 3,500 tickets will be issued for this stage, so it is vital to purchase your ticket as soon as possible. Tickets for the Orange Grandstand are sold further in advance (at least 3 months in advance), while those for the Red and Green Grandstands must be purchased at least 2 months in advance.
